To celebrate getting past 100 subscribers on my Youtube Channel, I’ll be attempting to play through a large chunk of the One-Hundred: Essential Works for the Symphonic Tubist by Wesley Jacobs.
This is NOT a sponsored stream for this book or publishing company, I was just thinking of how I could celebrate getting to 100 subscribers and I was playing from this book one day and was like, yes let’s just attempt to play a large portion of this book!!
If you are not familiar with this book, it is a collection of almost one hundred of the top orchestral excerpts that you will see called for in orchestral auditions and the like.
Fore-warning though, I haven’t played through the entirety of this book and also I don’t have a bass tuba to play the higher excerpts on, so it will most likely not be a perfect stream, BUT it should be a fun time!

Presentation at SERTEC - Integrating Electronics into Modern Tuba or Euphonium Practice and Performance

Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia , Athens, Georgia
This presentation explores practical strategies for integrating electronics into practice and performance to improve musicianship, creativity, and self-assessment. Attendees will learn how to optimize their own recording setup, use effects pedals tastefully to expand tonal color in live performance, and use digital audio workstations (DAWs) to refine recordings and create customized backing tracks for practice and performance. Each topic will be supported by live demonstrations on tuba, but everything shown is equally viable on euphonium.
This will be my first conference presentation, so I am very excited! Hope to see you there!!
